More Than Words - The Hanen Program is for Parents of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

More Than Words was developed to meet the unique needs of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. In this program, parents learn how to build communication into predictable, pleasurable routines as well as to use the child's visual strengths to help him learn to communicate. It helps parents address the challenges of engaging their child interactions and teaches them how to help their child communicate for social purposes as well as to get their needs met.

The combinations of group learning during evening session plus individual video-taped parent/child interaction sessions, allows parents to formulate an action plan while practicing these strategies under the guidance of a HANEN certified Speech-Language Pathologist. The program also afford participants opportunities to share ideas, issues and concerns with other parents.
