First Step Program
FIRST STEP™ is an intensive intervention program for children diagnosed with a variety of developmental challenges. The program created is tailored individually based on the child’s needs. The program is designed to be intensive. Intervention is scheduled a minimum of fourteen hours per week. Family support and training are included in our program. (Additional intervention time is available for FIRST STEP™ participants upon request.)
Next Step Summer Program
The Next Step Summer program is designed to facilitate language development, social interaction, and academic support. This program is designed for children ages 4-7 to enhance their language and communication skills while also working on school readiness academic maintenance skills.
Little Steps Big Rewards Program
The Little Steps Big Rewards program is designed to facilitate social interaction, play development, emergent literacy, language development, and phonemic awareness. It is a program designed to guide our children with communication challenges to feel more confident while learning the necessary skills to succeed in a natural environment.
Speech-Language Therapy is the treatment of speech and/or language delays or disorders. A speech delay or disorder refers to a problem with the actual production of sounds, whereas a language disorder refers to a difficulty understanding or putting words together to communicate ideas.
Occupational Therapy is skilled treatment that helps individuals achieve independence in all facets of their lives. It gives people the "skills for the job of living" necessary for independent and satisfying lives.
Applied Behavior Analysis/Verbal Behavior is designed as an intensive one-to-one goal implementation program. Each ABA/VB program is designed to meet the individual needs of the child.
Oral-Motor Therapy may be used as a component of feeding therapy or articulation therapy. Carefully selected techniques and exercises are implemented to develop awareness, strength, coordination and mobility of the oral musculature in order to facilitate improved clarity of speech and/or successful feeding skills.
The Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) is a unique augmentative/alternative communication system that allows children with communication deficits to initiate communication with others. It helps individuals quickly acquire a functional means of communication within a social context.
Behavior Intervention Therapy enhances an individual’s quality of life with proactive intervention strategies. It teaches the child and family how to manage maladaptive behaviors by replacing them with functional behaviors that lead to positive consequences in the natural environment.
